One of my favorite quotes applies not only to running, but to life in general. Steve Prefontaine, a legendary long-distance runner, said, "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice a gift." Since I love reading and running, one of my favorite books is The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen, which is a great book for young adults.
As far as my teaching career, I started at Frank Ward Strong Middle School right after graduating from Marist College with a Bachelor’s of Art degree and became certified to teach English in grades 7-12. After my bachelor’s degree I went to Southern Connecticut State University and received a Master’s of Science and certification in remedial reading. I also coached the cross-country at Strong for several years and really enjoy working with the middle school students both in the classroom as well as in after-school activities. Since I no longer coach, I do often attend the cross-country team practices, just to join my students for a run.
I live with my husband, and son, Colton, in Cheshire. Besides running, I enjoy spending time with my family and at the beach.
